Painted Turtle Wooden Toys

One of the things I remember from my childhood is when my Grandfather gave me a big tub of wooden blocks. I was so proud of those homemade blocks, I treasured them. Let my imagination run wild. I loved them so much I wanted my children to have homemade wooden blocks.

I am so excited to see wooden blocks are still around. Simply Stacie is having a giveaway of Painted Turtle Wooden Toys. Simply Stacie is giving away a `Baby's First Guitar` and `Stacking Inukshuk`. This giveaway ends February 14, 2010 at 11:59p.m. EST

`Fearless` (by) Max Lucado

Wouldn't it be wonderful to live in faith instead of fear? In his book "Fearless", Max Lucado, is very transparent with his readers, listing several areas they can be at peace in. Some examples that stood out to me are; fear of disappointing God, Fear of violence and fear of overwhelming challenges. He also lists several sayings of Jesus disputing fear.          The purpose of Lucados' book is to show the reader how to live in peace not fear. Doing so with an acrostic that spells out PEACEFUL. Prayer, Easy, Act, Compile, Evaluate, Focus, Unleash, Let (God).           I found it quite challenging to give my children over to God's control and not dictate every move they make. Lucado says it's best to be loyal advocates, stubborn intercessors and take our parenting fears to Christ. Always be mindful that appropriate discipline is an expression of love.           I would recommend this book for any young adult to adult reader who finds themselves battlin…

Buried Alive (by) Roy Hallums

This book is the true story of the 10 month kidnapping of Roy Hallums. It tells of his kidnapping, release of information to the family, how his faith sustained him, and the daring rescue by the U.S. Military.
This book had me clinging close to my chair from the beginning of the introduction thinking shall I go on, what more is to come? Even though I don't watch the news the book appealed to me because it is a true story written in first person.
Roy wrote it in such a way, with just a bit of humor, that it held my attention. I felt as if I was there, in Iraq as he was being kidnapped, and also there as his family was told of the kidnapping. The information was presented in a cohesive, yet appealing manner. I highly recommend this book.

Scriptures on Peace

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you (Isaiah 26:3).

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid (John 14:27).

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7).

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).

Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us (Isaiah 26:12).

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands (Isaiah 55:12).

Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace (Psalm…

I am Elizabeth Bennet!!

You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed.
