`Invitation: Harbingers Cycle One` is a Supernatural Suspense novel written by 4 authors: Bill Myers, Frank Peretti, Angela Hunt, and Alton Gansky.
The main characters are introduced in the introduction section of the novel. Brenda is a tattoo artist, the professor is an atheist who calls himself a realist, Andi is the professor's geeky assistant, and Tank is a nieve jock with healing powers.
The setting of section one is the Institute of Psychic Studies, which is known as a private Area 51. It's rumored that the spot is a vacation spot for extraterrestrials or an assembly plant of spare body parts for superheroes. Perhaps it's a psychic institute where kids from around the world come to see.
The setting of both sections two and three is the small town of Port Avalon, Florida, where a house appears and disappears taking people at will. It is a two-story Victorian house with a covered porch and sleepy front windows. It seems to know what the characters are thinking and has windows that look like eyes that follow a person everywhere they go. It appears the house is after the cast of characters.
On the beach in Florida, there are thousands of fish on the shorelines, and thousands of birds falling to their death that have no eyes. The eyes seem to disappear after the creatures are dead.
The setting of section four is Dicksonville, Oregon, where Uncle Bart lives. Section four seems to be the world of the impossible, childlike footprints show in the snow and end where they shouldn't. It is almost as if this little child has flying powers. It appears the child just vanished into thin air.
Each author worked well together while telling the story in their own style. I recommend this novel to fans of Science Fiction. This novel reminds me of the book `Rooms` (James L. Rubart).
