Review: Kit Kat and Lucy
`Kit Kat and Lucy` is a memoir written by author Lonnie Hull DuPont. Lonnie DuPont is an award-winning poet, book editor, and writer. She lives in rural Michigan with her husband and their cats.
This book on animals is the best one I have read, so far. It reminds me so much of our cats, one that is now deceased. How Kit Kat would sleep with the owners and how picky she was about her food. Lonnie's husband was allergic to cats but was swooned by a feral cat they named Kit Kat. He decided he would rather stay on his medicine than give up Kit Kat.
We also took in a feral kitten. At first, she would only come to our son. So she stayed outside until she trusted our son enough to pick her up and bring her into our house. Unfortunately, she would sleep in the litter box and mess on the carpet. We had to train her to use the litter box. Now we have two new kittens which our cat, Mimi, gets along with great.
My favorite quote from the book is "A meow massages the heart" (Stuart McMillan) I recommend this book to all animals, especially the feline kind.
