Review: The Bible and Me

Stories with a Message to Live By

Lois Rock and Alida Massari have teamed up to create a Bible storybook full of inspiration and delight, sure to elicit moments of contemplation. Thoughtfully written, each section begins with a Bible quote and ends with a prayer or psalm that fits the theme of the story to help readers reflect further on what they've read. Alida Massari's richly colored and deeply peaceful illustrations fit perfectly with the meditative theme. Includes twenty stories from the Old and New Testaments.

`The Bible and Me` is a colorful hardback book used to introduce children to the gospel. It is retold by Lois Rock and illustrated by Alida Massari. Each section begins with an appropriate Bible verse. For instance, the `In the Beginning` section Psalm 24:1 is used. The text is organized into short paragraphs, which are sufficient for the story. The section introduces a message for the child to live by.
The primary medium is colorful drawings. The pages are thick, so there will be less accidental tearing of pages. The book may be enjoyed over and over. Each section may be read to the child as a bedtime story.
I recommend this book to children ages 8-10 and their parents.
