Bela's Letters ~ Giveaway

“Béla’s Letters” is a historical fiction novel spanning eight decades. It revolves around the remarkable life story of Béla Ingber, who was born before the onset of WWI in Munkács, a small city nestled in the Carpathian Mountains. The book tells of the struggles of Béla and his extended family to comprehend and prepare for the Holocaust, the implausible circumstances that the survivors endure before reuniting in the New World, and the crushing impact on them of their wartime experiences together with the feelings of guilt, hatred, fear, and abandonment that haunt them. At the core of the novel are the poignant letters and postcards that family members wrote to Béla, undeterred by the feasibility of delivery, which were his lifeline, even decades after the war ended. Review: Your People shall be My People`

PaperbackISBN9780800797898Dimensions5.5 x 8.5Pub. DateApr 2016SRP$14.99Carton Quantity56Number of pages224

`Your People shall be My People` is a prophetic book written by author Don Finto. The setting of this book is intended to be real. This book is written to Israel, the Jews, and the Christian church. I believe the author's position, in this book, is that we are in the beginning of the end. This book was first published in 2001. It is time to claim the Jewish roots of our faith. The heritage of the Jewish people is the heritage of all believers.(pg. 16) Religious history is emphasized in this book.

I learned that there are more believers today than in all the years preceding us. Millions of people on every continent are coming to faith. (pg 40) Regardless of the way things seem, we are experiencing the greatest spiritual awakening in history. This book speaks of the Messianic Jew, those who believe. I was surprised to read that the Protestant theologian and reformer, Mart…

Review Take Hold of the Faith you Long For

ISBN9780801018855Dimensions5.5 x 8.5Pub. DateApr 2016SRP$14.99Carton Quantity56Number of pages256

`Take Hold of the Faith you Long For` is a Christian living book written especially for women by author Sharon Jaynes, co-founder of Girlfriends in God. The topic is letting go of who you think you are and living boldly for the Lord. Sharon did much research for each chapter, from some authors I am familiar with and others that are new to me. This book is dedicated to Sharon Jaynes` mom who passed away in 2014.

Many Christians are just happy with their status quo comfort zones. Author Sharon Jaynes gives the reader a little push with such chapters as: `Take Hold of your True Identity`, `Take hold of Grace-Filled Acceptance`, and `Taking Hold of your Promised Land`. Sharon did an excellent job of laying out the chapters as the book seemed to flow flawlessly.

I believe the author's position, in this book, is at the bottom of page 12. "We think going from where we are to…

Review: Sins of the Past

PaperbackISBN9780764217975Dimensions5.5 x 8.5Pub. DateApr 2016SRP$14.99Number of pages 384

`Sins of the Past` is a romantic suspense novella with three different stories written by three different authors. The theme is the danger that never seems to go away. This novella was published in 2016 for those who like romantic suspense.

The first story is `Missing` written by author Dee Henderson. Police Chief John Graham and Lieutenant Sharon Noble are working together to find the chief's mother who has been missing for two days. The story is set in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The police and detectives are working well together on this missing person report. There are only 8 chapters, so I finished this story in one day.

The second story is `Shadowed` written by author Dani Pettrey. Libby Jennings is swimming for her life, over 12 miles. She is surrounded by other swimmers, one of them may be out to kill her.
While watching for whales from his boat Ben McKenna and Libby Je…

Review: Mars...with Venus Rising

Book Blip: A meddling horse, paper bag floors and a flying saucer on the town square. The little town of Mars has it all—including a brand new resident who might spell heartache for one of its own.

`Mars...with Venus Rising` is a Christian Romance novel written by author Hope Toler Dougherty. From the cover to the description it sounds like a funny novel with a meddling horse and two busy-body aunt's. The intended audience is probably a woman in her early twenties, but I believe any age woman would enjoy this light read.
The author has dedicated this novel to her parents and Bobbie & Auline Toler, who always believed. She gives God credit for giving her the desire of her heart. Hope is a new-to-me author and I hope to read more of her works.
Penn Davenport is the light-hearted female protagonist and Peri is her sociable, lovable horse who loves to visit the neighbors. The tall, dark, and handsome male protagonist is John. All the characters work well together. The t…
